Important information to know about guest posting

My goal is to connect writers with free education. When I was starting out, I didn't know where to look for writerly advice, and what I could find was so conflicting it was hard to know what to listen to. Now, I find the best advice comes from all over but also accepting that we're all learning. And in literature, there are very few times when there is simply one right answer.

This blog focuses on topics ranging from ideation to publishing and querying. I'm happy for almost any writing content - sometimes even that which has already been produced but written from new perspectives. Everyone's journey is unique, and so we can learn from different writers going through the same things.

Housekeeping:

- I will not accept any pieces that contain slander, bullying, plagiarism, content written by AI, or generally negative or authoritative content. I reserve the right to refuse applications and posts at any time based on these standards.

- Posts not received by the deadline will either result in no publication or a later release date.

- Posts must be shared via email either as a Word doc or Google doc, polished and fully written. (I do minor editing for typos and grammar, but it is up to you to ensure your post is error-free and accurate.)

- Posts should be no less than 850 words and no more than 2500 words.

- You are responsible for coming up with a title and content.

- I schedule content at least a month in advance.

I acknowledge that I live and work on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg, and Haudenosaunee Peoples. I am thankful to those of the First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples who have--and continue to--care for these lands here and across the province. To this day, Indigenous people in this region and beyond continue to face oppression, inequality, and violence as a result of historic and ongoing colonialism. Though these lands are protected by the Dish with One Spoon agreement, settlers and institutions continue to fail to uphold their responsibilities. In order to change, we must understand the gruesome history and stand in allyship with Indigenous peoples through action.
